The state of Uttarakhand is intersected by various rivers making it a hot spot for river rafting. The state is also the hub for Adventure Activities in Uttarakhand with facilities of numerous other activities, but river rafting has found a special place with a number of River Rafting Sites in Uttarakhand in India. Uttarakhand, known as the land of holy rivers and their origins is home to many rivers which enjoy free flowing course throughout the state criss-crossing the forests, covering the rocky terrains, mountains, and even snow covered stretches.

Himachal Pradesh’s snow-fed rivers offer tremendous opportunities for the challenging sport of rafting. There are tremendous river running expedition oppurtunities between Shamshi and Aut on the Beas. The 20-km stretch has exciting and extreme whitewater rapids.River-rafting or white-water rafting, as it is also called - is swiftly making Himachal a focus for the sport.

Today Ladakh consists of two districts — Leh and Kargil. The largest town in Ladakh is Leh. Ladakh, the region of mountain passes, a piece of broken moon land- a perfect place to witness the unmatched beauty of nature. Ladakh is the highest plateau of the Indian state of Kashmir with much of it being over 3,000m.

 

The major places to check out in the Kashmir region are Srinagar , Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg. While Srinagar is a best stop over for a week, the other three also make nice hop over destinations for a day from the capital city.
